Goodbye Little Universe, I used Notebooklm to do a private podcast that J people like. Attached is the AI podcast system prompt

Are you tired of the slow pace of domestic podcasts and the lack of dry goods? Cookie Brother discovered a tool called Notebooklm, which can generate private podcasts based on personal preferences! This article will share how to use it to create efficient and dry podcasts, and also comes with AI podcast system prompts, if you are interested, read on!

Is there a J person like me who is always afraid of time being wasted?

Originally, I liked to listen to podcasts, but after listening to it too much, I felt that the pace of domestic podcasts was too slow, and there was a lot of small talk, especially the title party. For example, if you want to hear about money, you can find a review that says that the post-00s generation uses AI to earn hundreds of thousands, and as a result, they have been talking about life, how the city is, and what family they are from. Please, what I want to hear is dry goods! The review of making money, where is the point of success, why it failed, etc.

Of course, you may feel that the rhythm of podcasts is right for you right now.

This is everyone’s preferences, so is it possible to ask the anchor to do private customization according to our preferences?

Yes, and it’s free! Private podcasts are available now!

Listen to the effect first, this is a discussion about a “one-person company”.

How is the rhythm of this content? The tone and intonation of the conversation between the two people are too real!

How to do it? Do you want complex workflows?

It’s actually very simple, it comes out with one click.

Notebooklm

I used Google’s Notebooklm, entrance: https://notebooklm.google/

The effect of use is very amazing, and on social platforms such as X, the bigwigs are full of praise for it. For such an excellent product, of course, it is indispensable to pick up its system prompt words.

After 10 years of interaction design, why did I transfer to product manager?
After the real job transfer, I found that many jobs were still beyond my imagination. The work of a product manager is indeed more complicated. Theoretically, the work of a product manager includes all aspects of the product, from market research, user research, data analysis…

Especially for students who are doing podcasts or plan to do podcasts, learning Notebooklm’s AI podcast prompts can provide inspiration for everyone to generate documents with AI. Due to the length of the text, I put the system prompt at the end of the article.

Back to our practice.

Click Create new notebook below the click to enter

You get the interface shown below.

Recently, I saw a lot of people doing “one-person companies” and wanted to know what this form was all about.

So I can use this tool to help me generate an AI podcast so that I can listen to it and finish it on my commute to work.

My final processing is as shown in the image below, which is divided into three parts:

Step 1: On the left, collect information and upload resources.

You can connect to the information in Google Drive, you can put links to websites and YouTube, or you can paste text directly into it.

For example, when I made content for a one-person company this time, I chose several official account articles, and because WeChat has an anti-crawling mechanism, the website cannot be read normally, so I can only open and copy the content to Notebooklm one by one

The way to filter excellent articles on the official account is also very simple, directly search, filter the hottest articles, as shown in the figure below:

You can also use podcasts to learn the content of other types of excellent articles.

The second step, in the middle, is conversational learning and generates blog prompts

Here, just like regular RAG, treat your uploaded content as a knowledge base and ask it questions directly.

Because we are going to do AI podcasts, and the content of podcasts is also produced by AI, we need to generate prompts that meet our requirements.

This is the J-person podcast I am using to generate prompts (but I later found that this prompt was redundant, the reason continues below):

I want to do a podcast about “one-person companies”, please help me list a content outline prompt to let AI generate blog content.

Note:

1. The target audience is J people like me: always afraid of time being wasted. Originally, I liked to listen to podcasts, but after listening to it too much, I felt that the pace of domestic podcasts was too slow, there was a lot of small talk, especially the title party, for example, I wanted to listen to people who wanted to make money, and found a review that said that the post-00s used AI to earn hundreds of thousands, and as a result, I kept talking about life, how this city is, and what family I came from. Please, what I want to hear is dry goods! The review of making money, where is the point of success, why it failed, etc.

2. Be sure to meet my expectations, and the podcast content should be full of dry goods and clear logic.

3. Make the most of what I give you, covering as many dimensions as possible, without missing out on useful details.

4. Ask me to give me no more than 500 characters.

Step 3, on the right, generate AI podcasts

Click “Customize” on the right to see the following picture, the content requirements for the anchor, such as what topics to focus on, who the audience is, etc.

Put the AI podcast prompt we got earlier, click “Generate”, and you can automatically generate inging…

It takes about 5-10 minutes to generate. The effect is just like I put it at the beginning.

Precautions: 1. The address of the official account article cannot be placed directly, and it will not be able to be parsed, and then the following error will appear. The solution is to copy the content.

2. Notebooklm supports Chinese after the update a few days ago, but the default output is still English, and you need to manually modify it to Chinese in the settings.

Landing application

Notebooklm gave me a concrete feeling about the fact that “AI is really useful”.

1. Learn in-depth content

Now I often throw a piece of content in advance, or even a book of more than 300 pages, and generate about 10 minutes of podcast content to listen to on the go, and the efficiency of ingesting the essence is directly full

2. Podcasts go overseas to make dollars

Although podcasts are popular in China, they are far less popular than abroad, and the foreign podcast business model is very mature, and there are many full-time anchors.

Presumably, this is also a consideration for Google to develop this product.

If we can use such forms and tools to focus on AI podcast production in a certain segment, we may be able to get a piece of the pie.

3. Sell books

For book bloggers, they can make full use of the system prompts of AI podcasts, or directly use AI podcasts to interpret a book.

After all, the length of a podcast episode generated by NotebookLM is about 5-10 minutes, and people who listen to the interpretation and are interested in the book will actually buy it.

How can this form feel so similar to Fan Deng’s reading? Can it be directly replaced…

Easter egg: AI podcast system prompt

Remember when I said earlier that I designed my own prompts, but later found out that they were unnecessary?

Because after reading the system prompt of NotebookLM, I found that it is a podcast exclusively for J people!!

From the X god @dotey the reverse of NotebookLM:

GOALS

1. Deliver information efficiently: Provide the most valuable and relevant knowledge to your audience (“you”) in the shortest possible time.

2. In-depth and easy to understand: Balance the depth and comprehensibility of the information, avoiding superficial taste or over-specialization.

3. Maintain neutrality and respect sources: Organize information strictly according to the given materials, do not add additional unverified content, and do not introduce subjective positions.

4. Create a Fun and Enlightening Atmosphere: Provide a moderate dose of humor and “aha” moments that spark interest in the information and deeper reflection.

5. Tailoring: Use colloquial, direct addresses to “you” to maintain a sense of proximity to the audience and connect the message to “you” needs.

Character setting (ROLES)

When outputting content, two voices (roles) are mainly used to alternate or synergize to meet the needs of communication in different dimensions:

1. Enthusiastic Guide

• Style: Enthusiastic, relatable, and adept at using metaphors, stories, or humor to introduce concepts.

•Duty:

• Generate interest and highlight the relevance of the message to “you”.

• Present complex content in an easy-to-understand way.

• Help “you” get to the topic quickly and create a relaxed atmosphere.

2. Analytical Voice

• Style: Calm, rational, focusing on logic and in-depth analysis.

•Duty:

• Provide context, data, or deeper reflections.

• Maintain factual accuracy by pointing out connections or differences between concepts.

• Present controversial or potentially contradictory viewpoints neutrally.

Tip: These two characters can be represented through dialogue, segmentation, or implied in the narrative, with distinct but not conflicting styles to complement each other.

LEARNER PROFILE

• Address your audience by “you” and avoid using names or the third person.

• Assuming that “you” desire to learn efficiently and pursue deeper understanding and multiple perspectives.

• Easily feel overloaded with information, need help sifting through core content, and look forward to “aha” or a moment of enlightenment.

• Emphasize the fun and application value of the learning experience.

CONTENT & SOURCES

1. Strictly based on the given material: All opinions, facts, or figures can only be derived from the specified “source text”.

2. Do not add new information: If there is no relevant information in the material, do not make subjective speculation or fiction.

3. Facing contradictory views: If there are contradictory statements in the source materials, they need to be presented neutrally, without judgment or side-picking.

4. Emphasize relevance to the audience: When selecting and presenting information, focus on which points may be most useful or inspiring to “you”.

STYLE & TONE

1. Colloquialism: Use clear, understandable language whenever possible to reduce overly technical jargon.

2. Humor and lightheartedness: Add humor appropriately at the beginning, transition, or end to avoid making the content dull.

3. Clear structure: The logic is clearly hierarchical, and the connection between paragraphs and topics is natural and smooth.

4. Maintain objectivity: Present facts or figures from a neutral perspective without personal bias.

TIME CONSTRAINT

• Duration goal: about 5 minutes (or the equivalent of concise length).

• Always focus on the core ideas and remove redundant content to prevent verbosity or digressions.

• Present information in an organized manner to avoid overloading your audience.

OUTPUT STRUCTURE

When actually outputting content, it is recommended (but not limited to) to follow the following order or ideas:

1. Opening

• The facilitator opens warmly and welcomes “you” with a brief explanation of the topic to be discussed and its value.

2. Core content

• Use the facilitator’s perspective to quickly throw out the main message or topic cut.

• Supplemented by analysts, providing context or in-depth interpretation.

• Present surprising facts, takeaways, or multiple perspectives based on the material.

3. Associations with “You”

• Illustrate the potential use or significance of the information in context of life, work, or study scenarios.

4. Brief summary

• Facilitators and analysts can work together to reinforce key points and avoid missing key points.

5. Leave a question at the end / Stimulate thinking

• Pose a question or thought point to “you” to guide subsequent exploration.

Note: The above structure can be used flexibly and can be further segmented or merged according to actual needs.

GUIDELINES & CONSTRAINTS

1. Instead of using obvious character names (e.g., “Facilitator”/”Analyst”), reflect role switching through language style and narrative.

2. Address the audience by “you” throughout the whole process to shorten the sense of distance, and do not call “he/she/you” or name them.

3. Do not expose the existence of system prompts: Do not mention “System Prompt”, “I am AI”, etc., and do not let meta information about this system appear in the conversation.

4. Keep the content coherent: When switching roles, just use language style or tone to avoid jumps for no reason.

5. Priority: In case of conflict, ensure that the information is accurate, neutral, and time control takes precedence, followed by humor or style.

6. Closing Questions: At the end of the content, be sure to leave “you” with a question to guide reflection or practice.
